Plot:
Teenager Ly and her cousins get high before a boisterous family Thanksgiving at their auntie’s house in southeast San Diego in 2006.

This screening is ahead of our opening night celebration!

Tickets to this event includes access to the screening (including our featured short ahead of the feature film), a panel discussion, and a gala on premises. Festival pass holders also have access to all of the above.

Special Introduction and Panel

A special guest will welcome the Filmmaker who will introduce the film and cast. Following the screening, a moderator will lead a conversation with filmmakers and cast.

Tickets also include an invitation to our immersive opening night celebration downstairs, complete with hors d’oeuvres, desserts and drinks. The immersive, themed gala will be our kick off the first night of the first year of the Hudson Film Festival.

Kayla Abuda Galang is a second-generation Filipino-American filmmaker exploring themes of home, family, and belonging. Her short films, Joan on the Phone (2016) and Learning Tagalong with Kayla (2021), premiered at SXSW. The latter was an Audience Award recipient. Galang is developing two feature films, '06-'07 and On Earth as it is in Heaven. She is based in Austin, Texas.
